Camp Card Sales

What is a Camp Card?

Away for Scouts to pay their own way

The camp card is a way to help Scouts and units fund their adventures for Summer and Fall Camping Programs. Scouts can emphasize to their customers that each card sold will help them go to Camp. The minimum number of cards that need to be sold is 25 to go to a Cub Scout or Scout BSA District Day Camporee. Their sale will be successful because people want to support Scouting.

We are selling the Scouting program. Each card is branded with our Council website and to help as a recruiting tool. As each Scout sells their cards, they are displaying character traits that they have learned through Scouting. This campaign will allow your Scout unit to visible once again in our community and bring awareness to selfless service and servant leadership.

Camp Card Sale During COVID-19

The safety and health of our Scouts, Leaders and Scout families is the first priority of the Chattahoochee Council and we understand that it may be difficult to get out in the community. Don’t let your Scouts miss out on the opportunity to sell these cards virtually. The Chattahoochee Council has set up a Camp Card online store where your customers can purchase cards to donate to local Hometown Heroes. To ensure that the Scout gets full credit for the sale, please ensure that customers enter Scout’s Name and Unit Number. Please direct customers to to place their orders. #WeWillScoutOn #ScoutingAtHome

Scouts can win weekly gift card drawings!!!
For every 4 cards sold through our online Hometown Heroes link, the Scout will qualify for 1 entry into a weekly drawing.
The first drawing will be held on December 14th, the last drawing will be held on March 29th. The winner will be announced on Mondays via Council Facebook Live Page.

Ideas to close your virtual Camp Card Sale:

  • Using social media/email to spread sale awareness and efforts is a great way to sell safely. Parents can video their Scout in Class A uniform and share it with their cyber friends. Cards can be paid for by using Paypal, Zelle, Cash Out, Google Pay, Cash App, or Venmo. These are recommendations of app-based payment options, each unit should properly research and make their best choice. After payment is received and confirmed, the Scout can then mail the camp card to the purchaser. This can serve as a valuable learning lesson as to how online sale transactions occur in today’s e-marketplace. Plus, Scouts have an opportunity to send a thank you note to their supporters.
  • Have your Scout dress in their Class A uniform. Allow your Scout to take part in your work video conference call and make a sales pitch to those on the video conference. Parents, please ask your employer for permission before proceeding. Let your employer know that this is in support of your local Scouting program.
  • With parental supervision and in Class A uniform, Scouts could call or video conference local businesses such as dentists, doctors, law offices, etc. asking the business owners to purchase several camp cards to use with their clients, customers, or staff. Camp Cards are a great Thank You or recognition item. Ask these businesses to support local Scouting programs through their purchase of our camp cards.
  • Churches are another option for sales, ask them to feature your scout in the bulletin to promote camp card sales to their members via their emails or social media.
