2023 Muskogee District Awards Banquet
Each year, the Muskogee District holds its annual District Banquet to show recognition to those volunteers who have given selflessly of their time and energies to provide a meaningful program to Scouts in all phases of the program. This gives the district the opportunity to express its appreciation to the Scout Leaders and Committee Members for their efforts to make Scouting a successful program in their units and the district. Listed below are the awards that are available for presentation.
- Pioneer Award- recognizes those that have less than 2 years tenure in the Scouting program that have been “fire starters” in their units. These individuals MUST be currently registered.
- Scouter of the Year awards- these awards cover all facets of the Scouting Program. See District Nomination Awards Form for a detailed list. These nominations must be accompanied by a write-up that focuses on the nominee’s contributions to the Scouting Program they were registered in. NOMINEES MUST HAVE BEEN REGISTERED AND SERVED IN NOMINATED POSITIONS DURING 2022.
- District Award of Merit- This is the highest award that can be awarded by the district to those leaders that excel above and beyond in Scouting, either at the unit or district level (or both). When considering a nominee, they must have a minimum of five years in Scouting and be currently registered.
The cut off date for nominations for all awards is midnight on March 29, 2023. ABSOLUTELY NO SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE. If a category has no nominations, no award will be presented in that category.
This year’s banquet will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023, at the Columbus- Fort Benning Shrine Club at 6:30 pm. Cost will be $15.00 if paid before April 7, 2023, and $20.00 after that date, but no later than April 20, 2023.
