Lifeguarding Course
Cost (Lodging and food paid during registration, course fee paid directly to instructor at check-in)
In council: $155 ($125 for the course and $30 for food and lodging)
Out of council $175 ($145 for the course and $30 for food and lodging)
Participants must pass the BSA 100 yard Swim test followed by the Red Cross 450 yard Swim test for a total of 550 yards (There is no time limit).

Schedule:
Thursday evening: Instructor Arrival, Pool setup. Attendees may come Thursday night so they will be ready to go in the morning.
Friday: Pool Instruction starts at 8am with CPR (in the evening after dinner)
Saturday: Pool Instruction start at 8AM, Test (in the evening after dinner)
Sunday: Finish Pool Instruction start time 8AM with Waterfront Instruction to follow
Participant Equipment
- Multiple towels advised.
- Folding chair – you will be more comfortable
- Notebook and pencil/pen.
- Insulated water bottle
- Sunscreen
- A wide brimmed hat and Polarized Sunglasses with floating strap
- If you have flippers and a mask that covers your eyes and nose bring it.
- Sleepwear and
- comfortable clothing for classroom portion of class
- Pillows
- Sleeping bag/sheets and blankets
- Shower towel
- Toiletries
- Medicine
- Fan (for your bunk)
- Ear plugs (people snore)
- Snacks that you like
- Prescription Medicine.
- Swimwear
- Males: Swim trunks (you can wear a Speedo-type swimsuit or jammers underneath). A rash guard or dri fit shirt that fits snuggly for your top is recommended.
- Females: Modest 1 or 2 piece swimsuit (not too loose, not too tight) and/or lifeguard shorts and rash guard with swimwear top and bottom underneath (3 inch inseam on shorts).
- Closed toed shoes for camp, sandals or crocs for the pool and closed toed water shoes for the waterfront.
