2021 Cub Scout Spring Shooting Sports

Saturday April 17, 2021th at Camp Pine Mountain

As decades of Cub Scouting have shown, Cubs love learning new skills and Shooting Sports is one of them.
Beyond capturing that enthusiasm, the BSA created the Cub Scout Shooting Sports Awards program to encourage in Cub Scouts the development of safe shooting practices and proficiency in shooting sports. As a Cub Scout participates in shooting sports activities and works toward an award, they not only build confidence in their abilities, but they also develop self-reliance, sportsmanship, and conservation awareness—all elements of good character valued in Scouting. Not to mention they have fun!
Archery, BB Gun, and Sling Shot will be offered.
Tiger - Arrow of Light Cub Scouts may register.
Join us for this great event!

60 Spots Available!!!

The program essentials are as follows:

1. A two-part worksheet for each sport must be completed BEFORE arrival. The two-part worksheets are for Archery, BB Guns, & Sling Shots.  Scouts with completed worksheets and qualifications will earn the shooting sports PATCH for their rank. Download worksheets below.
Archery Competency Worksheet
BB Gun Competency Worksheet
Slingshot Competency Worksheet

2. The day will consist of a safety review, parts review, and the qualifying time on the range.  Again, worksheets        MUST be complete before range time is allowed.

IMPORTANT - To earn the PIN for each event, a Scout must qualify using the Scouting BSA standards for each rank.  Understand that pins are NOT awarded for merely participating, signatures from Range Masters will indicate qualification status.

3. MEDICAL FORMS (parts A & B) for ALL individuals are REQUIRED.  This includes the adults that accompany their scout.  No Forms = No Attendance.  These will be collected at check-in. Download Medical Form here.

4. Matching wrist bands will be issued to parent and scout.  Parents are the Scouts “buddies” for the day. Parents must attend each station for the entire event, with their scout.  Wristbands will be checked at each station. THIS IS NOT A DROP OFF EVENT!

5. This is a Cub Scout & Webelo/AOL event only! Siblings are welcome to watch, but may not participate unless they are a registered paying Scout. (Tigers - Arrow of Light) Cub Scouts will be introduced to the Patrol Method and be assigned a den chief.

6. Must Prepay Online, Payment will not be taken the day of the event.

7. Bring a pole if you have one, and bait.  Scouts BSA members will be onsite teaching the basics of the fishing merit badge.

8. If you are late and/or your Scout is not present for the safety briefing they will not be allowed to participate in the days event!
