Council Reopening Plan

Dear Chattahoochee Council Scouting Community,

COVID-19 has brought profound changes to us all. We hope everyone is healthy, staying safe and ‘Scouting On’. Our Council Service Center and Scout Shop have been closed since March, but we have continued Scouting all along.

On Tuesday, May 26th, the Council Service Center and Scout Shop in Columbus will reopen to the public, with limited hours. The Scout Shop will be opened from Tuesday through Friday, from 10am-6pm, and Saturday from 10am-2pm. The Service Center will only be opened Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 10am-5p and via email and phone calls Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm.

As we open, new safety procedures will be in place. All customers must sanitize their hands prior to entering the Service Center or Scout Shop and have their temperature taken, anyone with a fever will not be allowed to enter. All Customers must wear a mask and practice social distancing. No customers will be allowed past the reception desk of the Service Center for the time being. The Scout Shop in West Point will remain closed.

Our customer and staff safety are our number one priority. These policies are put in place for the safety of everyone and are subject to change based on CDC and governmental guidelines, or for the safety of our customers and/or staff. For updates on our policies for hours of operation, please visit or call 706-327-2634.

Yours in Scouting,
