Welcome to Scouting at Home

Updated: April 1, 2020

Scouting can take place anywhere. During this time of adversity and uncertainty, we are encouraging families to keep Scouting in their daily lives. Our goal is to provide resources that make it easier to deliver the Scouting program at home and for Scouts to continue to work on advancements. Above you will find a variety of resources and ideas for continuing your Scouting adventure at home. Click each program tab to explore the opportunities. Need more ideas? Check out these hashtags   #ScoutingAtHome    #ScoutingfromHome  on Facebook for more ideas.

Chattahoochee Council Specific related to Eagle Scout Rank:

1. As stated below, councils can grant an Eagle Rank extension due to COVID-19 disruptions causing a delay in Scouts earning/completing merit badges or issues related to Eagle Scout Service Project completion. Extensions for these reasons should be sent to the Chattahoochee Council - Attention: Elizabeth Tice. If any other causes are involved, the extension request must be made to the local council for National Council approval following the process outlined in the GTA.

2. Units are urged to follow the highlighted guidelines below related to active participation requirements and position of responsibility requirements. Extensions should not be requested due to these situations.

3. Units are also urged to find alternative methods (conference calling, video conferencing) to complete the Scoutmaster Conference requirement. Remember to follow Youth Protection Training guidelines and the Two-Deep Leadership Policy when completing this requirement.

4. If your unit has a Scout that has completed all the requirements for Eagle Scout rank and is ready to turn in the final Eagle Project Workbook and Eagle Scout Application, please contact the Chattahoochee Council Office to schedule an appointment to submit your paperwork.

5. Regarding Eagle Boards of Review, each district team is encouraged to use video conferencing (Go to Meeting, Zoom) to allow Eagle Scout candidates to complete this final step to becoming an Eagle Scout. However, as stated below and highlighted, Eagle extensions are not required for a delay in completing the Eagle Scout Board of Review since councils may grant Eagle/Summit/Quartermaster boards of review up to six months after the youth’s 18th/21st birthday.
